Amur Falcon with mousebird A very interesting record of a female Amur Falcon (Falco amurensis) photographed with a Speckled Mousebird (Colius striatus) that it had caught in the Rietvlei Dam Nature Reserve near Pretoria, South Africa on 12 January 2007. It is quite unusual for these birds to catch vertebrate prey while overwintering in southern Africa. Phil Penlington
